Jessi: Top 25 Indonesian Questions You Need to Know - Lesson 10: How is the Indonesian food? In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Indonesian learners, and then learn how to answer it like a native. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.
In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question "How is it?" In Indonesian this is
Fira: Bagaimana rasanya?
The first word in the question “How is it?” is
Fira: bagaimana
Jessi: "meaning something like how" in English. Listen to it syllable by syllable.
Fira: (Slow, by syllable) bagaimana
Jessi: Listen again at natural speed. Please repeat.
Fira: bagaimana
{Pause}
Jessi: This pattern of first introducing a word at natural speed, providing the English translation, breaking it down by syllable, and then giving it once more at natural speed will be repeated throughout the series. Try to speak aloud as often as possible. The next word in the question, How is it? is
Fira: rasanya
Jessi: meaning something like the taste in English.
Fira: (Slow, by syllable) rasanya

meaning something like delicious.
Fira: (Slow, by syllable) lezat
Jessi:Now repeat.

Jessi: Listen to the speaker say, It's delicious, and then repeat.

Jessi: To make another phrase, replace delicious with tasty.
Fira: sedap
Jessi: tasty
Fira: (slow) sedap (regular) sedap
Jessi: Listen to the phrase again, this time with tasty
Fira: Rasanya sedap.
Jessi: It mostly stays the same. Simply replace delicious. Say It's tasty

Jessi: you want to say it's spicy. . Answer the speaker's question.

Jessi: You want to say it's sour. Respond to the question.

Jessi: Now you want to know what -that- person thinks of the meal. Ask the question
