Eric: Welcome to 3-Minute Indonesian Season 1, Lesson 15 - Where Are You Going? In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask where someone is going in Indonesian.

Eric: Here's the informal way to ask “Where are you going?” in Indonesian.
Fira: [Normal] Kamu mau ke mana?
Eric: First is a word meaning “you.”
Fira: [Normal] kamu [Slow] kamu
Eric: Next is the word meaning “want.”
Fira: [Normal] mau [Slow] mau
Eric: Next is the word meaning “to.”
Fira: [Normal] ke [Slow] ke
Eric: Last is the word meaning “where, which.”
Fira: [Normal] mana [Slow] mana
Eric: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the informal question meaning “Where are you going?”

Eric: Now, imagine you're speaking to a stranger. Here's the formal way to ask, “Where are you going?”

Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Fira: You can use either Sedang or lagi to ask a question when you’re lost. For example Maaf, saya tersesat, boleh tanya saya sedang di mana? This means “Excuse me, I got lost, may I ask where I am?
