HideHow do you celebrate New Year's (Hari Tahun Baru) in your country?
Hi Gredwa,
Thank you for your comment. I believe most Indonesians consider Tahun Baru Cina and Tahun Baru Imlek to be the same celebration. You might also hear another term to refer to the the celebration, that is Hari Raya Imlek. I hope this helps. Happy listening!
hi guys,
when thinking about 'chinese new year' for instance, i immediately think of 'tahun baru cina' (year new china/chinese) ;-) i would never consider it to actually be 'tahun baru imlek' (year new lunar) which is 'lunar new year'. this is where learning indo can be quite confusing for me, as things don't translate so easy (literal) and this is just one example, where i would say it as i think it to be and be quite off the mark. cheers.
Hi Carrie!
Nice to hear that!
