Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Fira: The Rupiah has been the Indonesian currency since 1946. Informally, Indonesians use the word Perak when referring to Rupiah. The word Rupiah comes from the Sanskrit word, rupya, meaning "wrought silver," as it does with Indian currency Rupee. But please note that Indonesian Rupiah and Indian Rupee are not the same word, so don’t get them confused.

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
